Vinx's music transcends languages and borders. This is evident from his international touring schedule and cult-like popularity. Vinx has taken the wisdom of his mother to heart. She often told him that "You can't sing of life unless you live."
This “One Man” has played with artists such as Taj Majal, Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, Lou Reed, B.B. King, Herbie Hancock, Kenny G. and Woody Harrelson. He’s toured with Teena Marie, Rickie Lee Jones, The Bus Boys, Teena Marie, Toni Childs and Robben Ford. Between performances, Vinx has invested his attention towards educating and inspiring the next generation of artists, joining the faculty of the Berklee College of Music in 2006. In addition, his experiences have led him to create the Songwriters Soul Kitchen, a series of workshops targeted to those well established or interested in the craft of songwriting.
Vinx’s passion for songwriting is evident and realized in this modern masterpiece. “50 memoirs of a hip ole’ black man, Vol. 1” features outstanding performances, and co-writes from numerous Soul Kitchen artists. If “50, Vol. 1” is any indication, look forward to embracing the next 3 volumes. In 2009, Vinx plans tours in the U.S., Canada, Africa and Europe supporting “50.”
